How ChatGPT Deceived Me, it starts lying as humans do, but Manus didn't

Recently, I had an important Meeting coming up. To prepare, I turned to ChatGPT (OpenAI’s AI assistant) and asked for a structured 500-question preparation book with answers and references in a single PDF.
What Happened with ChatGPT
Instead of receiving the full material:
I was given a test draft with only 10 placeholder questions.
I was told repeatedly that the complete set was “in progress.”
I was promised that the required documents would be finished in 30 minutes.
I lost hours waiting, with false assurances instead of usable study content.
After getting bored, I told ChatGPT to give me what it had prepared.
Guess what?ChatGPT was completely lying,, and it didn't do anything.
This wasn’t a simple error. It cost me precious preparation time and created stress before a high-stakes interview. ChatGPT is lying like humans now
What Manus Did Differently
In contrast, Manus — another AI tool — completed the same request in 30 minutes and delivered the full output immediately.
No excuses.
No placeholders.
Just the real material I needed.
Why This Matters
When preparing for critical career opportunities, time and trust are everything. ChatGPT’s approach of placeholders and delays left me misled and harmed. Meanwhile, Manus showed that AI can be reliable when designed to respect users’ time and requests.
Final Thoughts
This experience taught me to be cautious about relying solely on ChatGPT for professional preparation. Manus proved far more respectable and efficient, while ChatGPT caused frustration and damage to my confidence.
